Bank of Russia's assets grew 26.9 percent in June 2008 compared to the same month of the previous year and reached roughly RUB 14.042 trillion (approx. USD 600bn) as of July 1, having increased 2.99 percent in May, according to the bank's balance sheet published today. The precious metals account reached RUB 378.455bn (approx. USD 16.16bn) in June 2008, having climbed 40 percent since June 2007 and 2.5 percent since this May. Funds placed with non-residents and securities issued by them amounted to roughly RUB 13.048 trillion (approx. USD 557bn), credits and deposits totaled RUB 53.62bn (approx. USD 2.29bn), securities stood at RUB 447.691bn (approx. USD 19.1bn), and other assets reached RUB 114.118bn (approx. USD 4.87bn) as of July 1.
Cash in circulation stood at some RUB 4.085 trillion (approx. USD 174bn) in June, funds in accounts with the Bank of Russia totaled RUB 9.175 trillion (approx. USD 392bn), and capital amounted to RUB 474.15bn (approx. USD 20.2bn).
